I’m woefully behind on keeping Sullivan’s Soul updated. Most of my input goes toward “Big Al’s Comic Blog” or “Our Life In The Funny Pages,” which is fine with me. On occasion I’ll try to jot a few personal notes regarding the funnies, in particular “Zippy the Pinhead.”
Here he is with Zerbina, driving in a car on a date, so it seems. She likes this role (being the butch in the passenger seat?), and this worries Zippy. She’s messing with the space-time continuum, since they are not normally a “coif” couple. But she’s joking about accepting her role! Hahahahaha.
What the fuck does this mean? Honestly, what the FUCK DOES THIS MEAN?
I don’t follow this shitty comic enough to see what lead up to this date. Zippy even shaved his lumpy head and got out of his gay clown suit to go out with Zerbina, so this is big. But I can’t figure it out. And why is she running away from the car…into the woods?
Griffith puts together these random stupid thoughts that again make me feel dumb. I can do the same thing!
My Zippy comic:
Zippy is reading a piece of paper, and thinks “The blank white piece of paper is full of texture at some scale, reflecting light and full of information.”
Then you see him walking in a park. “The firm earth beneath unsteady feet and an explosive scattering of sky encompasses both the macro-tumult, flinging about space, and the micro-turmoil, dense with plowing earthworms and shifting continental plates.”
The last panel has a Bob’s Big Boy statue saying: “Don’t try to ground yourself, Zippy…you are neutral! Plant your feet somewhere else.”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
